This pattern is a great way to use up scraps or bring people together through a Flag block swap! It’s dedicated to unity, friendship, and the country that I love. There are 50 flags to represent the 50 states but you could do this pattern in any color scheme to honor any country!
Finished Size: 78½” x 87½”
An assortment of light blue scraps totaling at least ⅜ yard (Flag blocks)
Fifty different red 8” squares (scrappy Flag blocks)
(or 1⅝ yards of red fabric for identical Flag blocks)
⅜ yard of white plaid fabric (Heart and Star blocks)
¾ yard of red polka dot fabric (Heart block and binding)
4⅜ yards of navy print fabric (background, sashing and borders)
⅝ yard of red checked fabric (inner border)
7¼ yards of backing fabric
2²/3 yards of 90” wide batting
This pattern is beginner-friendly.
The Flag blocks used in my sample were sent to me by Instagram friends!
The rest of the fabrics used were from various fabric lines.
